THE BISHOP CELEBRATED HOLY MASS IN TWO CITY PARISHES
Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica traditionally led concelebrated Holy Masses in two Banja Luka parishes: on the last day of 2020. in the central parish of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and on New Year’s Day, January 1st in the parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary with the Trappists.
What they had in common in the sermons was that Bishop Komarica, in the spirit of Christmas time, encouraged those present to awaken and strengthen Christian hope and to practice effective love as a testimony of their credibility.
In a sermon at the Thanksgiving Mass on December 31st, he referred to the past year, stating that “we should thank God for the many gifts of his paternal care and grace”.
At the end of the Holy Mass, those present sang Tebe Boga hvalimo (We Praise You God).
On New Year’s Eve, January 1st, he also spoke in a sermon about the coming of the promised Savior and presented with him the saving role of the Mother of God. He then presented the traditional message of the Holy Father with the World Day of Prayer for Peace which was celebrated on that day.
At the end of the Eucharist, he thanked everyone for their support in the effort, for the European Centre for Spiritual Culture and Social Cooperation in the House of Encounters Marija Zvijezda, to bear concrete fruit.
