Meeting of religious teachers of the Banja Luka diocese
The annual meeting of religious teachers who work in primary and secondary schools in the territory of the Banja Luka diocese was held on August 31st in Prijedor parish. About 30 participants gathered and were welcomed by the head of the Catechetic Office of the Banja Luka Diocese, the dean and parish priest in Prijedor, rev. Marko Vidović.
The Bishop of Banja Luka, Mgr. Željko Majić acquainted the present with this year’s theme of the meeting: Religious teacher: evangelist, priest by baptismal grace.
In the presentation, Msgr. Majić pointed out that a religious teacher should be a person of prayer who lives a sacramental life inspired by the Word of God. “The ideal of a religious teacher is Jesus Christ”, emphasized the bishop and invited those present to direct their gaze to Christ and be an example with their lives to those they teach.
In the continuation of the meeting, those present reflected on the issues related to religious education in schools in the area of the Banja Luka Diocese.
The work was followed by the Eucharist in the parish church of St. Joseph, which was led by Bishop Majić with the concelebration of the parish priest rev. Vidović and three other priests.
