WREATH LAID IN BOSANSKO GRAHOVO ON INDEPENDENCE DAY OF BIH
On the occasion of Independence Day of BiH on March 1st, representatives of Croats in Bosansko Grahovo laid the wreath and lit candles in front of the memorial cross in the centre of the city, for all the defendants who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of BiH, which is the homeland to Croats as well.
During the last War in BiH, in the area of Bosansko Grahovo more than 50 Croatian soldiers of HV and HVO were killed, and their sacrifice is built into the foundations of free and independent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Interestingly, Drvar and Bosansko Grahovo are the only two municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina where the referendum on BiH’s independence from March 1st 1992. was not held.
After 27 years, Independence Day is marked more than modestly as a non-working day in both municipalities, and the state flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina is hanging all year round in front of the building of the municipality of Drvar.
