CELEBRATION OF THE PATRON SAINT OF THE PARISH OF VISITATION OF BVM
On the feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, May 31st, the Banja Luka parish celebrated its patron saint.
The Holy Mass was led by the priest in the Travnik seminary and the parish priest in Rostovo, rev. Jakov Kajinić, and in addition to the parish priest rev. Žarko Vladislav Ošap, 12 other priests concelebrated.
Rev. Kajinić in his sermon, first referred to the greatness of the Virgin Mary, which she showed in her readiness to serve both God and people. Following the meeting of the pregnant Mary and Elizabeth, he called on those present to pray especially for all mothers and all conceived children “so that life may be loved and defended from conception to natural death”.
The liturgy was animated by the singing of a small parish choir with the help of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ from Bužak.
Although it was a working day, about 100 believers gathered, including the chairman of the RS Council of Peoples, Nada Tešanović, who is also the “godmother” of the church, and the Croatian consul, Zoran Piličić.
The patron saint’s celebration was preceded by a three-day event. On the first day, an organ concert was organized by HKD Napredak, Banja Luka Branch. On the third day of the three-day event, in the afternoon, there was a presentation of the book by organist Sanja Horvat Pričaj mi o Isusu (Tell Me About Jesus).
