DIAMOND JUBILEE IN HOMETOWN AND DIOCESE
Priest of Banja Luka diocese and long-time missionary in the South American country Peru, His Holiness’ Prelate Drago Balvanović, celebrated his diamond priesthood jubilee this year on Saturday, August 31st in his hometown Bosanska Gradiška and on Sunday, September 1st in the Cathedral of Banja Luka.
In addition to the faithful believers from different parishes, friends, a larger number of nuns and priests, Bishop Msgr. Franjo Komarica and Assistant Bishop of Đakovo-Osijek Msgr. Ivan Ćurić also participated in the Holy Mass celebration.
The sermon was delivered by Bishop Franjo, and at the end of the Mass there was a celebration of the Jubilee’s fruitful priestly life and work in his native diocese and in South America, of which Msgr. Dr. Anto Orlovac spoke.
The jubilee prelate Drago himself addressed the present, TABB reports.
After the Holy Mass, all the Mass attendees participated in a “feast of love” in the parish courtyard, which was organized by the parish priest father Tomislav Topić and the parishioners.
Also, the prelate Balvanović, at the cathedral, together with Bishop Franjo, presided over the mass and delivered an appropriate sermon to the present believers. At the end of the mass, everyone prayed a “prayer for the priest” from the memorial card of the jubilee.
