MEETING OF THE COMMISSION OF THE HBK AND THE COUNCIL OF THE BK BIH FOR THE LITURGY
At the headquarters of the Croatian Bishops’ Conference, on March 16th, a meeting was held between the Bishops’ Commission of the HBK for Liturgy and the Council for Liturgy of the BK BiH.
The Bishop of Gospić-Senj, Msgr. Zdenko Križić and the Bishop of Banja Luka dr. Franjo Komarica, chaired the event. Auxiliary Bishop of Zagreb Msgr. Ivan Šaško and head of the Croatian Institute for Liturgical Pastoral Care, Rev. Mario Kopjar participated, as well as members of the council: professors of liturgy at the KBF in Sarajevo, Msgr. Tomo Knežević and liturgical music at the same KBF, Rev. Marko Stanušić. The head and assistant of the Department of Liturgy of the KBF in Zagreb, OFM Ante Crnčević, and Rev. Milan Dančuo as well as the secretaries of HBK and BK BiH venerable Krunoslav Novak and Msgr. Ivo Tomašević.
After the greeting in the working part, the participants were informed about the work on the new translation of the Roman Missal. A methodology of work has been arranged in which liturgists will have importance, but also liturgical musicians, biblical scholars… Proposals for the translation of three added invocations in the Lauretan litanies have also been agreed. There was also talk about the completion of the technical preparation and editorial of the Croatian Liturgical Songbook Pjevajte Gospodu pjesmu novu (Sing to the Lord a new song) that will be jointly published by these two Bishops’ Conferences.
Amendments to the statute of the Croatian Institute for Liturgical Pastoral Care were also discussed. The meeting ended with a prayer.
