MONTHLY PASTORAL RETREAT OF PRIESTS IN THE BANJA LUKA DIOCESE
On March 15th, the Ordinariate in Banja Luka hosted the first retreat of the year for priests and monks who are active in pastoral care in the Banja Luka Diocese.
The meeting began with Eucharistic adoration in the cathedral led by Msgr. Karlo Višaticki, after which there was an occasion for holy confession.
Then the bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica held a lecture on the topic of Pastoral care for the sick. There are three important points that the bishop emphasized in his presentation: issues related to general pastoral care; education of parish associates for this type of cooperation and pastoral care, and Caritas as a practical way of this type of pastoral care.
After the lecture, some of the priests presented their experiences in this field of pastoral work in parishes. At the meeting there were about 30 priests and the auxiliary bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Marko Semren, OFM.
The meeting ended with lunch and socializing, and the next one was announced for Holy Wednesday, April 5th, when in the Banja Luka diocese, the usual dedication of the holy oil takes place (chrism oil and oil for the anointing of the sick).
