REGULAR SPIRITUAL RENEWAL OF PRIESTS OF THE BANJA LUKA DIOCESE
A regular retreat of priests working in pastoral care was held on May 19th at the Ordinariate in Banja Luka. Gathered presbyters, 25 of them, together with the Bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica and Auxiliary Bishop Msgr. Marko Semren began their spiritual and pastoral meeting with adoration in the cathedral, led by the organizer of the retreat, rev. Žarko Vladislav Ošap.
Then there was the possibility of accessing the sacrament of confession.
This was followed by a lecture on the topic of “Distinguishing Spirits in the Bible”, which was given by the professor of the Holy Scriptures at the KBF in Sarajevo, Dr. rev. Dubravko Turalija. Noting that the Feast of Pentecost is approaching, the lecturer began his presentation by interpreting Pentecost in Judaism and using examples from the Bible to indicate the power of God’s Spirit in the life of a man who always encourages, uplifts, builds the Evil Spirit who shakes and destroys. Speaking about the distinction of spirits, rev. Dubravko introduced to the gathered priests, to biblical figures: King Saul, King David and his family, and King Solomon and the martyr Job.
After the lecture and questions, rev. Ošap thanked the guest from the KBF and announced that in mid-June a pilgrimage will be organized to Our Lady’s shrine of Komušina, where he will have another priestly retreat.
