SPIRITUAL VIGIL IN HONOUR OF MARY, MOTHER OF ALL NATIONS
In the evening of May 30th, in the parish church of Marija Zvijezda in Banja Luka, a liturgical celebration of the Vigil for Pentecost was organized, as well as a prayer meeting in honour of Mary, Mother of all Nations, whose picture was placed in that church in early 2014.
The liturgical celebration was led by the bishop of Banja Luka, Msgr. Franjo Komarica, and due to the coronavirus, care was taken that the number of those present did not exceed the prescribed 50 people for the RS.
The celebration began at the same time as Pope Francis, along with believers around the world, was praying the rosary against the pandemic.
In front of the picture of the Mother of All Nations which was decorated with flowers, the bishop began to pray the rosary of Our Lady, and was continued by five concelebrant priests, among whom was father Zvonko Topić, parish priest of the Marija Zvijezda religious community.
In his homily, Bishop Franjo first pointed out Jesus Christ as “the most significant and fateful person in all of human history”. In the second part, he presented the most important data regarding the beginning of the veneration of Our Lady of All Nations, ie the Mother of All Nations on the basis of a private revelation through 14 years – from 1945. to 1959. – to the seer Ida Peerdeman in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. He encouraged everyone to be grateful and faithful to Christ and his Most Holy Mother Mary “who wants to be the mother of all people and all nations in the world”.
Prayers in front of the picture of Our Lady, as well as the Eucharistic celebration were interwoven with the singing animated by sister Damjana Kovačević, organist at the cathedral.
