THE FIRST PERMANENT DEACON FOR THE BANJA LUKA DIOCESE WAS ORDAINED
In the parish church of the parish of Marija Zvijezda in Banja Luka, on Sunday, October 4th, the Bishop of Banja Luka, Franjo Komarica, ordained Marijan Krajinović, mag. mechanical engineer and father of three children, as a permanent deacon.
The bishop was accompanied in celebration by Msgr. Anto Orlovac, parish priest father Zvonko Topić, Salesian rev. Josip Krpić, and the Bishop’s Secretary rev. Predrag Ivandić.
In addition to local believers, members of the deacon’s family, wife Marina and children, parents, brothers, sister and many other relatives also took part in the celebration. Singing during the liturgical celebration was led by singers from the parish of Marija Zvijezda and the cathedral, led by sister Benita, and the organ was played by Alen Kopunović Legetin from Zagreb, who performed several compositions before and after the celebration.
The motto of the whole, unusual, joyful celebration were the words from the spiritual song Lord, You have come to the seashore, which are attributed to the Holy Pope John Paul II.: “Oh Lord, did you call for me?”
After the song You God we Praise and the end of the liturgical celebration, all those present in the churchyard stayed in joyful company. A “feast of love” was organized for the guests in the space below the church.
The celebration of the Holy Mass and ordination was recorded by TV RS for its religious program.
