THE THIRD FAMILY DAY IN KUPRES
The third family day in BiH was marked on Sunday, July 26th, in the parish of the Holy Family, when the Holy Mass was celebrated in the magnificent church of Kupres by the President of the Bishops’ Conference of BiH (BK BiH) and Archbishop of Vrhbosna, cardinal Vinko Puljić.
Before the solemn procession in the entrance of the church, admittance to the community of little Iva Batinić was held, who received the sacrament of baptism during the Holy Mass, which gave this Mass celebration an even more solemn tone.
In concelebration with the cardinal was Msgr. Marko Semren, Auxiliary Bishop of Banja Luka and President of the Family Council of the BK BiH, and six other priests, including the parish priest of Kupres, rev. Tomislav Mlakić.
The celebration of the Holy Mass was animated by the parish choir with harmonious singing, while more than 20 ministers served at the altar.
After the biblical readings and the proclaimed gospel, Cardinal Vinko delivered a sermon.
Then, after a special prayer of the faithful that was prayed throughout the parishes of BiH, the cardinal baptized little Iva.
At the end of the Holy Mass, Msgr. Semren addressed the gathered and invited everyone present to pray for Catholic and Croatian families around the world. After him, the parish priest of Kupres thanked everyone for organizing and participating in III. family day in BiH. Also, in memory of this day, the cardinal was presented with a wooden cross.
The blessing of little Iva, her parents and godmother followed, and then the blessing of all those gathered.
Let us mention that the day before, on Saturday, July 25th, the Holy Mass was led by Msgr. Semren when at the same time a couple concluded the sacrament of marriage. After the Eucharist, Bishop Marko led the Prayer Vigil for Families and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as part of the prayer novena under the motto: The Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina prays for life and on the 25th anniversary of the encyclical of Pope St. John Paul II The gospel of life.
The Family Day, organized jointly by the Family Council of the Bishops’ Conference of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the parish of the Holy Family in Kupres, aims to draw attention to the importance of the family and the preservation of family values in society, preserve Christian identity and position Kupres as a key shrine of the Holy Family in Central Europe.
